The ROK Order of Military Merit, First Class, is South Korea's highest military honor, and is equivalent to the U.S. Medal of Honor. It's awarded to people who have performed outstanding military service.
On 25 April 2023, the president of the Republic of Korea (South Korea) awarded the Order of Military Merit 1st Class to COL (Ret) Ralph Puckett, Jr., for his actions during The Battle of Hill 205 on 25 - 26 November 1950 ... Thanksgiving weekend in the United States.
This award has been presented to the likes of General of the Army Douglas MacArthur, General Mark Clark and General William Westmoreland.
In a class act, the ROK president personally pushed The Ranger's wheel chair up to the dais for the award presentation.
NOTE - for one month, ROK had displayed ten (10) ROK heroes on a Times Square billboard that included COL Ralph Puckett, Jr.
